We had a great time this weekend; lots of shopping at bead and yarn shops, JoAnns, Violettes and of course Stamp Fest. We enjoyed our interactive card class with Jackie Lewis from Inky Antics. There were lots of laughs, a group scrapbook project and lots of wonderful food to round out our girlfriend weekend at the Sheraton resort (Thanks Sandy).
Two of the neatest ideas were found when visiting the Loralie booth. I loved the recipe holder and also the stamped and stitched items that were made to look like they were stamped on fabric, but were actually stamped on cardstock; backed with felt, covered with netting or tulle and stitched just past the edge of the paper and trimmed. I can't wait to try them out.
One new tip I heard was on how to separate layers of paper napkins in order to get to just the one ply that is printed: use two pieces of masking tape that have some sticky removed (press on clothing a few times); put them on either side of the napkin and pull gently-the layers will separately easily.
